"During the holiday season every year we run a fundraising drive for a charity of choice. This year we chose Tails of Help to be our charity" - Tracey Ruzicka, hospital manager and registered animal health technologist.
According to Tracey, there were two components to their fundraiser this year - a silent auction and personalized Christmas ornaments. "Some clients purchased ornaments as a memorial to a fur family member that they had lost in the last year. This is very precious." Others chose to hang their ornaments on the Hospital's "Charity Tree of Love, hope and Patients".
For the silent auction component, their clients had the opportunity to bid on gift baskets containing all kinds of special goodies for their pets. Participants were given the option to bid in person or on-line via the clinic Facebook page. The on-line component helped spread the word even further.
According to Tracey, "Bow Bottom Veterinary Hospital is happy to help promote Tails of Help as well as get the word out to the public via Facebook and Twitter about the work that they do. We are so happy to support a fantastic Alberta based charity that our very own patients and clients may benefit from in a time of need". Bow Bottom raised a total of $1285 for Tails of Help. This amount of money will go a long way to helping Alberta families in need receive essential health care for their pets.
